Fran Lyon - Guilty until not proven
I won't concern you with the details of this sad story. You can read it here (Telegraph), here (Mail) and here (Community Care).
I can only say that the last 'target driven' agencies that behaved in this cruel, mindless, manner ran camps called Bergen-Belsen, Dachau and Auschwitz-Birkenau for a chappie called Adolph sixty odd years ago.
Fran is safe now - she's living in a place that drives on the right.

Mmmm! Strong stuff, Sir. I understand the sentiment, though. It’s just another tug on the straps of that officious burocratic straitjacket we all suffer with the present bunch at the helm.
On a lighter note, and seeing his name mentioned, I am mildly incredulous that ‘Dolfie and his strutting british lapdog Sir Ossie are not featured in Mitfordorama gallery in the pubstraurant which was formerly the Swinbrook ‘local’. Not even one little snapshot ! Given that they both featured in the warp and weft of much of that aristo-lots’ lives in the 30’s and 40’s, I feel we’ve been somewhat historically short-changed! Then again - maybe the jackboots were a teensy-bit non-u ?
Ah well, I feel myself vectored towards the port bottle again – per ardua ad oblivion !

To each his own decor.
Personally, it wouldn’t bother me if the pub was decorated with mug shots of the entire GCHQ team. My only problem (actually, I don’t care) is with the naff quality of the ‘canvas’ reproductions.
Port at midday, eh? Whose a lucky chappie?
