Having a Ball
Monday, November 20th, 2006It's been a while since I wrote about my life, doubtless to the relief of many in the area.
Truth is, I've been having a ball and, just like Cinderella, the carriage has turned into a Pumpkin and I'm waiting for the Prince (Princess in my case) to turn up with the slipper that belongs to me.
Trouble is, my Fairy Godmother turned up today to tell me that the story doesn't really end that way. I argued the case that, after 54 years, I can't accept any other ending than the one I've been brought up with but she insists that things have changed since the 80's. Things are more complicated now and feeling good and happy endings just get in the way and, anyway, carriages are passe and Land Rovers are more dependable.
I don't expect City folk to get my drift and so I'll give it some further thought and get back to you soon to better explain myself when I've made some sense of it and can express it more simply.
Don't suppose you'll give a damn anyway…
ps Quill and I will continue to trespass as usual and, if you're still around, Fairy, give me a call - I so much enjoy the way you try to complicate my simple view on life. I think we have much to talk about.
